CASTING POLICY

5things Studios doesn’t accept unsolicited show reels, headshots, or any other promotional media.

However, we do work with casting agents and occasionally have an open casting call. There has been a lot said about the casting process due to the recent SAG-AFTRA strike. This is our position on the expectations for actors when it comes to casting.

Initial casting is done through the submission of a self-tape audition. A successful self-tape for 5things Studios has the following elements:

  1. Good lighting – a light ring, light box, or natural light is fine, we just want to be able to see your face clearly.

  2. Clear sound – most phones have a built-in camera that works fine. Try to record in an area without a lot of background noise.

  3. Personality – having a good reading partner can really help, but our goal is to see the personality of the character.

We don’t care if you record on your cell phone or on a zoom call. You don’t need to buy expensive equipment or pay for a studio production. We simply want to see your face, hear your voice, and feel your personality.

Call backs will get an in-person audition with a reader provided.
